Today has been a very long day. I got up quite early this morning by my standards for a Sunday, as we were spending the day with Brian’s mother, her birthday is on Tuesday so this was her day out.
On the way we encountered the usual Sunday morning bicycle race with the usual inconsiderate cyclists riding outside of the bicycle lane and blocking the road, and they say motorists are ignorant. It was a tragedy that one of their officials was killed, my thoughts go out to his family.
First stop after picking up mother-in-law was Tanunda, nothing very impressive, then Nuriootpa where we had intended to look at antiques but unfortunately most of the shops were either closed or no longer trading, so it was off to the Truro bakery for lunch. After lunch we wound our way through Blanchetown, a hole of a place, then across the Murray River on the punt in Swan Reach, before coming home via Sedan and then through Gumeracha and down North East Road back home.
Dancing With The Stars, just another two weeks before the finale and I suppose either Zoe Crammond or Danielle Spencer will win, although Johnny Ruffo is doing a great job. I can’t help but feel the judges are biased towards the ladies, Johnny does a great job week in week out and the audience love him but the judges do not score him well. I suppose they are the professionals so we have to trust them, but surely Johnny must rank highly in the viewer votes.
Fortunately Brian Mannix was voted out this week, a blessing in disguise for Australia.
Back downstairs now to watch the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. I am and always will be an unashamed royalist, deal with it.
