Thoughts of a middle aged man…..17 June 2012

We had a house full for lunch today, the whole family was here except Bailey as he was playing football. Other than seeing my sons and their partners, and playing with my grandchildren, what did I enjoy the most about today, Kane and Kristin did everything and I was able to just relax and enjoy myself, other than the crappy nappy I changed.

Jayden loved his birthday presents and had a great time playing with his cousins. All the kids were good, no fights, no tears, no tantrums, just 7 very tired children by the time they went home, and two very tired grandfathers.

Caitlin informed us she would like a laptop for her next birthday. I told Kristin that if she and Kane were happy for her to have one that we would chip in with them to buy it, it is a bit too much for us when you have to be fair to all the grandchildren.

The Dancing With The Stars finale was real entertainment tonight and I was so pleased to see Johnny Ruffo take out the trophy. Johnny is very charismatic and cheeky and I am sure he will go a long way with his career.

Olivia Newton-John was a guest artist and while she cannot hit the high notes like she used to, she is still a real professional. The work she does with cancer research is to be applauded and it was nice to see her support Kerri-Anne Kennerley at the moment. Kerri-Anne definitely has the right attitude, my thoughts are with her.
