Is it just me or are the nights getting colder, I could not get warm in bed last night. Anyway I had a very early start this morning as I promised to be at Dad’s by 8.30am for the big garage sale.
Now Dad had warned me had collected a lot of stuff over the years but nothing could have prepared me for what I saw this morning. The carport was full, the garage was full, the backyard was full, and the rumpus room was full. I saw things today that I had never seen in my life. Fortunately it was a lovely sunny day here in Adelaide and the buyers were out in force, at one stage we had about 20 people rummaging through Dad’s stuff.
We actually sold quite a bit but you wouldn’t think so to see what is left, so back I go tomorrow to see what else we can shift. As I said to Dad you cannot take it with you to the retirement village and I would rather he got something for it than just dump it. If you are in the Enfield area tomorrow , 10 Bowey Avenue, please call in and see if Dad’s trash is your treasure.
After Dad’s it was up to my son Ryan’s as it was the 12th birthday party for my grandson Bailey. He had asked for a rugby ball and more by luck than good measure we bought the right thing. When we left to come home Bailey was outside kicking it with his mates so I think we scored some points with that one.
The Mighty Crow Army marches on, tonight they made short shift of Port Power on their march towards the finals in September. I don’t know what Brenton Sanderson has done to turn this team from winners to losers, but he can keep doing it.
Another busy day with Dad tomorrow so off to bed.
