The day started out with a leisurely brunch on Semaphore Road with Mary, one of Brian’s oldest friends. Both Brian and Mary enjoyed their breakfast but mine was not all that flash, I detest burnt toast and although the owner offered to reimburse some of the cost I felt bad for her and declined the offer, as I didn’t want to make too big a deal of it, but she needed to know. I know from experience when Brian and I had the cafe that you need feedback in order to move forward.
We then went for a stroll down Semaphore Road and stopped at another cafe for morning tea, like any of us needed it. I shared a pot of Russian Caravan tea with Mary which was quite strong but very nice, everything was served on antique china. We will go there again.
We then continued our stroll down Semaphore Road and out onto the jetty before saying goodbye to Mary and heading home to do some housework. What an anticlimax!
The Adelaide Crows got quite a scare today but they prevailed by the skin of their teeth which is what counts. I feel sorry for Matthew Primus the coach of Port Power, I don’t think he should be used as a scapegoat, the poor guy seems to have done everything he can for this team so the player group have to cop their share of the blame, sack some of them.
Kane and Kristin came for dinner tonight with their four children, Caitlin, Alyssa, Jayden and Zak. We had a nice meal and a lovely visit with the grandchildren. Caitlin is the eldest and she is a little reserved but the other three just crack you up, particularly the boys. All four kids and Kane had a go on the pianola, poor neighbours.
Well its been a busy weekend and I am very tired. Goodnight and thank you for reading.
