What a miserable night it is outside, the window is howling and it is bitterly cold, so glad it is nearly time for bed.
Brian has spent today in Roberstown visiting friends and is staying the night, I am quite glad really as I would not want him to drive home in this weather.
You know Facebook can be a good thing. I have recently found someone from a family that my family was very close to for a very long time, in fact her father and my mother had a thirty year relationship until her father’s death. As we have grown up and had our own families we have drifted apart but it was lovely to find her and to catch up on the latest news about the remainder of her family.
I was very pleased to know that her mother and stepfather are doing very well, her brother is happily married, and her sister with whom I was particularly close is winning her battle with cancer. It is wonderful that Facebook at least will allow us to keep in touch.
In fact Facebook has allowed me to reacquaint myself with many wonderful people who I thought had gone from my life forever, so used the right way it is a wonderful tool. Unfortunately all too often I see it used for the wrong things, particularly by the young. I have a nephew who constantly pushes my buttons with some of the drivel he puts on, but he is my nephew and I know he is lonely so I largely keep my opinion to myself. In saying that I do not think that sexually explicit material should be tolerated as all too often those that are too young and impressionable get access through older family members or friends.
A quote from The Secret, “Give money in order to bring more of it into your life. When you are generous with money and feel good about sharing it, you are saying, “I have plenty”.”
