I am in quite a dark mood tonight and it has gotten darker as the night wore on.
Last night I was one very happy camper, the Adelaide Crows defeated the Fremantle Dockers to secure a place in next weekend’s preliminary AFL final against the Hawks. I was also impressed with the moving tribute to John McCarthy after his tragic passing.
Seeing as I am not in the best of moods I may as well have a rant about one of my pet hates, littering. I am so tired of seeing people throw their cigarette butts and other rubbish out of their car windows, I was under the mistaken impression that all cars have ashtrays, silly me.
Driving home this afternoon Brian and I saw a woman come out of a shop, walk straight past a rubbish bin to her car, and dump her wrapper on the pavement. I would hate to see her house, she was just feral.
Having lived in the county I feel we have a better respect for the environment then many city people. Those that live in the country do not throw their butts out the window, we have seen what bushfires can do, and to drive through the country and see the rubbish thrown on the side of the road is maddening.
Today we went to see Mum in the nursing home, not my favourite place to visit but you have to do what you have to do. Mum was quite chatty today and as we arrived her sister and brother-in-law were leaving so it was good to catch up with them as well.
After that we had been invited to a BBQ at my daughter-in-law Melissa’s mothers house. We had a lovely meal and met some of Melissa’s friends and her Aunty and her partner. Thank you Vicki and Steve, we had a very pleasant afternoon.
Next stop was Kane‘s for a quick visit as they were going out this evening. Young Zak was not very well but the other kids were fine. They are anxiously waiting for the results of Caitlin’s scan as she made need surgery to remove part of her lung, fingers crossed all will be well.
Tonight I have spent reading and watching football but nothing will change this sombre mood. Thank you for reading.
