Thoughts of a middle aged man…..18 September 2012

Today was such a busy day that I am now going in tomorrow on what was meant to be my day off. I am also working Monday so hopefully after that I will have caught up and things will be back to a level playing field.

I don’t know about you but all this controversy surrounding the anti Islamic video is really quite disturbing, and very scary. How can one insignificant little video create such an uproar all around the world. The simple thing to me would be to remove it, I cannot understand why that was not done at the first sign of trouble. I believe in freedom of speech as much as the next man, but this has offended so many people, and caused such hatred, it would seem the logical solution before things really get out of hand.

It just goes to show you the power of the Internet and how it can cause chaos in the wrong hands. In the modern world we should respect everyone’s beliefs, whether we share those beliefs or not. As our world gets smaller so the problems become bigger. I think we are too smart for our own boots and one day we will come unstuck.

You can’t help thinking that if there are extraterrestrials why would they want anything to do with us. If I was them I would steer clear as well.

It would be nice to think that the next generation will learn from our mistakes, but have we learnt from past mistakes? Thank you for reading.
