Thoughts of a middle aged man…..3 November 2012

I sometimes wonder if I am the only one that has totally random memories of their past, memories beyond my conscious control that are usually something to do with an event in my past I would rather forget. This happens to me all the time, usually when I am alone, perhaps driving the car , watching television, or worst of all when you are trying to get to sleep. Sometimes my head really does play with my head. At times like this mole hills become mountains, and try as I may to change that train of thought, to concentrate on something good, it doesn’t happen.

I have read so many “self-help” books in my time, but none of them are really any good unless you are in that mindset where you are receptive to them. If you are determined to be down on yourself, and some days that is the case, no amount of reading or positive affirmation will change that.

Right now I could sit here and rant about a whole range of things, but it would not make me feel any better, it wouldn’t make you feel any better, and it would be boring reading. Tomorrow is another day. Today has been a particularly trying day and I am tired.

I take great consolation knowing that so many are interested in what I write. Thank you for reading.
