Only three days until Xmas and I still don’t know what to buy my mother. In the nursing home she is confined to one room so there is not much room for anything, she can’t hold a book, put in a DVD, or put on a CD, so I am thinking either flowers or perhaps some perfume.
Brian and I have had a lazy day today, we went out for a while before it got too hot and then I spent the afternoon reading, and I had a Papa nap. Tonight we went to a friends for a Xmas party but we came home early as Brian’s back was giving him grief.
I have just finished watching Carols in the Domain, I didn’t see all of it but I enjoyed what I did see. Mark Vincent has a magnificent voice and the Ten Tenors sent shivers down my spine. Xmas definitely brings out the sap in me.
Tomorrow is going to be another hot one so I won’t be going far, maybe the nursing home as this will be my last chance to see Mum before Xmas, and both Xmas Day and Boxing Day we will be busy with our own families.
I was pretty disgusted this morning when I heard the recommendation from the National Rifle Association in the USA, armed guards in all school they say, what sort of example does that set for the children of America. Wake up to yourselves America, ban the bloody things then there will be no need for armed guards.
That is my opinion. Thank you for reading.
