That’s’ two and a half hours of my life I won’t get back, what a load of rubbish, Melbourne‘s Carols by Candlelight is not a patch on Sydney’s Carols in the Domain. It is one of those shows you keep watching because you are sure it is going to get better, but guess what, it didn’t. The final straw for me, Delta Goodrem singing in a terrible country drawl. Delta was such a breath of fresh air when she first started recording, but now she is too “americanized” for my liking. It wasn’t all rubbish Shane Jacobsen, Anthony Callea and Tim Campbell were all quite good, but I could have done without the 80’s “super group”, sorry Karl and Lisa, not even you could make it worth watching.
I had a busy day today, washing clothes, washing floors, vacuuming, and the obligatory last minute dash to the fishmongers for a crayfish. This crayfish had better taste bloody good, $92.40 for a 1.3kg cray, I nearly had a turn.
I had to fit in an appointment with my doctor as well as I needed a prescription; I found out my favoured doctor has moved on, damned inconsiderate I reckon, now I have to break in a new one. A simple task like filling a prescription became a drama today, the silly season is certainly upon us.
This time tomorrow it will all be over for another year, for most of you anyway, but not me, Boxing Day is my big family day. I wonder how many of my sons will call and wish me a Merry Xmas tomorrow, if I know them the mindset will be, “We’ll see the old man tomorrow so we’ll wish him a Merry Xmas then”. Let’s see what happens 🙂
To all my blog followers I would like to wish you and your families a safe and Happy Xmas, take care and happy reading.
