Today we picked up Brian’s mother and decided to head down south for a drive as we have not been down there previously. After a quick tour around Aldindga and Sellicks Beach we now know why we have not been there before, nothing to see. It is beyond me why anyone would want to live in either spot, miles from anything and really, really uninspiring.
We couldn’t get away from there quick enough so thought we would head to Willunga for lunch as that has always been a pretty town with lots of antique shops. The antique shops are now cafes, some of which sell artwork by local artists, after what I saw I cannot imagine they do much trade.
We went into one art and craft shop and they were selling twigs off trees tied together and dressed in clothes, it looked like something from a kindergarten class, and they called this artwork. Quite disappointing, we won’t be back in Willunga in a hurry either.
As soon as we got home Brian took a couple of pain killers and had a sleep as his back was very sore. It seems that long drives will now be out of the question as well as he simply cannot sit for long stretches, and getting in and out of the car is not good either. I feel very sorry for him as he loves getting out and about but you have to wonder if the pain is worth it.
A big day tomorrow, the kids and grandchildren will be down for an Easter Egg hunt and lunch. Quite looking forward to it.
Good night and thank you for reading.
