Thoughts of a middle aged man…..15 July 2013

Australia’s Got Talent is just the latest in a long line of Aussie talent shows I will not be watching. The television show is called Australia’s Got Talent, so where are the Aussie judges, Aussie judges for an Aussie talent show. I take nothing away from Geri Halliwell, Dawn French or Timomatic, all very successful in their own right, but I want to see Australian judges. Not to mention Seal, Ricky Martin, Ronan Keating, the list goes on, Aussie talent for Aussie talent shows, that is what I want to see.

It was sad to hear of the passing of Cory Monteith, a troubled but very talented young man, a life taken far too soon. How many more young lives will it take, famous or not, before the world will sit up and take notice and do something about the drug and alcohol problems that face our young people.

I have a bit of a dilemma at the office just at the moment, not enough work. I suppose I should keep quiet and enjoy the ride for the moment, as any strata manager will tell you it is always the calm before the storm. The last half of my year is definitely the busiest one for meetings.

Yesterday I had an interesting phone call from my Dad, he wants his four children in the same room at the same time as he has something important to discuss with us and is seeking our opinions. It should be very interesting as most of us cannot stand the sight of each other. Watch this space.
