Thoughts of a middle aged man…..10 August 2013

What a wonderful day I have had. It started with a birthday party for my youngest granddaughter Calais who turned 2. There were balloons, a face painter, lots of party food and drink, and I got to see 2 of my sons and 4 of my grandchildren, a third son and the remaining grandchildren were a bit late and we had to leave. Calais had a wonderful time, quite the little miss, she loved the dancing giraffe we bought her.

I have mentioned previously that son number 3 Blake has a new girlfriend Amy, and while I have met her before I had not met her children, Jayden 6, Joseph 4, and Olivia 18 months , lovely children. Joseph and Olivia started out a bit shy but they soon came around.

Home for a shower and quick change and it was off to my god-daughter’s wedding. I have been stressing about this wedding for a while now as I have not been the best of godfathers, in fact I have not seen Summer since her christening, I need not have worried.

The wedding was relaxed and very nice, Summer and her new husband Justin are lovely, and I got to reacquaint myself with her sister Sarah and brother Zeke. I also had a great catch up with my dear friend Kerry who is Summer’s mother, and her aunt Maureen who was a big part of my life for a very long time. I am determined that we will not lose contact agin, thanks to Mr Facebook.

Both the wedding and the reception were at the Largs Pier Hotel, they did quite a good job. I have had a great night which capped off a lovely day, now it is time for sleep. I almost forgot, Port Power got beaten as well, what a good day.
