A day of mixed emotions today, the son of one of my oldest friends underwent his second surgery in a week for a brain tumour. It appears from what I am reading that surgery went well, fingers crossed the long-term outcome is a good one.
I also spoke to another of my oldest and dearest friends whose cancer has returned, unfortunately it has returned with a vengeance. We had quite a long chat which I hope cheered her up to some degree, then I had a quiet cry to myself after hanging up.
On a brighter note I started packing for our upcoming move, two boxes down and Brian did another when he got home from work, umpteen to go. In the process I sorted out the linen, we are not taking everything this time, some of it will go to charity, along with an old set of crockery.
One of my nieces got hold of a very old photograph of my ex-wife and I and plastered it all over Facebook tonight, circa 1980, just after our wedding. It is just as well she is not in my will as I would have to disinherit her. 🙂
