Thoughts of a middle aged man…..10 January 2014

Today is the last day of my annual leave, come Monday I will hit the ground running. I have enjoyed the last three weeks, I did not have to wear shoes and socks, I did not have to shave every day, and I could slop around the house in shorts, t-shirt and bare feet. I have to confess to being just slightly bored though, particularly as Brian was not on leave as well so I have been by myself.

I have been busy today, I checked the tyres on my car, took another load to St Vinnies, I got a haircut, I washed the floors and dusted, and generally just tidied up around the house. You know what they say about idle hands.

I have not watched much television over the last three weeks, the only show I have watched regularly is Charmed. I know it is a load of twaddle but it is pure escapism, the idea of good versus evil, being able to orb at will to anywhere you like, a modern version of Bewitched which I loved as a child. Who wouldn’t want to click their fingers and have anything you wanted, or be anywhere you wanted to be. I can think of a few people I have known over the years I would like to turn into a frog. 🙂
