Thoughts of a middle aged man…..1 June 2014

The 1 June already, where has the year gone. They say the older you get the faster the years fly by, well they needn’t bother, before I know it I will be 60.

Dare I say it, the Mighty Adelaide Crows are back, well let’s hope so anyway. What a great game that was against the Gold Coast Suns, everyone contributed, a truly enjoyable game of football. The Suns are surely a force to be reckoned with moving forward.

Brian had yet another back procedure this week, fingers crossed, touch wood, it seems to have worked a treat. He has been down this road a number of times and it has been a bumpy road, but this time will be different. We are now planning our first overseas holiday for which I have postponed the purchase of my racing pigeons, so nothing had better get in our way now.

My son Blake is loving his time in Alice Springs, bittersweet for me really as while I want nothing more than for him to be happy, I miss him terribly. The Old Man had better get off his butt and go for a visit I think.

You know sometimes it just seems like you can do nothing right, I had a phone call from my sister to tell me she had given Brian’s phone number to my uncle which really annoyed me as we are kind of estranged. The story is too long and boring to go into here, suffice to say she should have known better. Anyway I kept my cool, I did not go off at her, but she got upset anyway. The moral of the story, do not give out my address or phone number to anyone.

Last night my grandson Cody stayed the night as his mother had an event to attend. He is a beautiful little boy, well not so little any more, but he is a joy. It is just a shame that his loving Papa has not been well all weekend so could not make the most of his visit, but I think Uncle Brian enjoyed himself.

Now don’t tell Brian, but I really like my new touch phone, in fact I wish I had given in to him earlier. I am becoming quite adept as using it, and I am really enjoying the Internet access. The one thing I don’t like is those damn message bubbles.

Back to work tomorrow, four meetings this week, no rest for the wicked.
